Heather Hachigian has been awarded a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship for her research involving government-owned investment funds and their role in the market for corporate environmental and social accountability, through their participation in global financial markets. The Doctoral Fellowship program aims to develop research skills and support social sciences and humanities students demonstrating a high standard of scholarly achievement at the undergraduate and graduate levels. All applications are vetted and A-listed applications are entered into the national competition, where they are subsequently evaluated and rank-ordered by a multidisciplinary selection committee.

Heather holds a BA Combined Honours in Economics and Political Science from McMaster University and an MA in Public Policy and Administration from Carleton University with a specialization in International Development.
