Public Policy Professor Ted Jackson will receive the 2013 Current Research Award of the Community Development Society, at the annual conference of the US-based professional body in Charleston, South Carolina, in July.

This award is presented to a Community Development Society member in recognition of a current research project or product that represents an important contribution to the field of community development. Professor Jackson is being awarded this peer-reviewed honor for his recent research in three areas: community-campus engagement, impact investing and LGBT rights in developing countries.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, the Community Development Society aims to strengthen teaching, practice and research across the community-development spectrum.  CDS members work in higher education, health care, social services, government, utilities, economic development agencies and citizens’ groups across the United States and in 30 other countries.
