The Carleton Centre for Community Innovation (3ci) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $25,000 grant to conduct research with First Nations, Inuit and Metis governments and organizations in the Ottawa-Gatineau neighbourhood. The funding is provided by the Office of the Vice-President (Research and International) Carleton University as a segment of its Research Development Plan. It is intended to address sustainability, as well as other operational and structural issues that Research Centres may encounter as they develop research streams and partnerships.
Frances Abele and Tina Dewache developed the proposal in consultation with First Nations governments and other Aboriginal organizations. The work will be in keeping with the University’s Aboriginal Education Strategy and Aboriginal Task Force recommendations to engage First Nations in research and development at Carleton University. The work will complement the development of the Indigenous Policy and Administration graduate programs of the School of Public Policy and Administration.
We look forward to developing more successful research partnerships. Watch this space for more information!
