Congratulations are in order for 3ci’s Academic Director, Professor Frances Abele, who was awarded the 2013 Pierre De Celles Award for Excellence in Teaching Public Administration from the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) on June 2, 2014. Professor Abele teaches in many capacities, including as Professor of Public Policy and Administration at Carleton University and as Adjunct Professor in the doctoral program in Indigenous Studies at Trent University. Professor Abele is also Research Fellow at the Institute for Research on Public Policy and Fellow of the Centre for Governance and Public Management.

The De Celles Award for Excellence in Teaching Public Administration was created by IPAC to honour the memory of a dean in the field, Professor Pierre De Celles. Aiming to foster innovation, IPAC’s Pierre De Celles award encourages and recognizes exceptionally effective and creative teachers. It is sponsored by the IPAC Endowment Fund.
