On Tuesday April 28, from 3:30 – 4:30pm, Dr. Frances Abele will be presenting a workshop under the theme”Tunnganarniq: Designing Programs to Maximize Student Engagement” at the NS@30 conference that is taking place at the Hilton Lac-Leamy hotel in Gatineau-Ottawa, from April 27 – 29.
The NS@30 conference, hosted by Nunavut Sivuniksavut (NS), is a unique post-secondary program for Inuit youth from northern Canada. Located in Canada’s capital, Ottawa, it is affiliated with Algonquin College. This year, the conference is being held to celebrate the program’s 30th anniversary.
NS@30 brings together representatives from educational institutions, political organizations, governments, funding agencies, corporations and foundations as well as Inuit and Indigenous post-secondary students to explore innovative approaches to Indigenous post-secondary education.
