Canadian development NGO World University Service of Canada (WUSC) has published a new report entitled “Social Enterprise and Post-Secondary Education Institutions: Optimizing for Development Impact.” From the Antigonish and Desjardins cooperative movements to the current crop of social-purpose tech start-ups, Canadian universities and colleges have been engaged with social business for nearly a century.
Prepared for and benefiting from WUSC’s 2018 Members’ Roundtable at the University of Ottawa, the paper explores how these institutions can work in reciprocal partnerships with social businesses and universities in the global South to support ecosystem development and scale enterprise growth for sustainable development.
