Hugues Létourneau

Hugues Létourneau joined the 3ci team in May 2011 as a research assistant following his first year of Master studies at Carleton’s Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. His research focuses on the impact that institutional investors can have over the extractive sector particularly as it relates to seeking a higher performance on social standards (human rights & indigenous, community and labour rights) in weak governance zones. Hugues has also worked as a research assistant at the North South Institute and has interned at the Mission of Canada to the European Union and the Parliamentary Information and Research Service in Ottawa. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto with High Distinction in economics and political science.
