Term: Winter 2021 | Instructor: Ahmed Abdulla
This course introduces students to basic thermodynamic concepts: temperature, work, heat, internal energy, and enthalpy. It elaborates thermodynamic properties of pure substances; changes of phase; and equation of state. It introduces the first law for closed and steady-flow open systems; as well as the second law. Students will also learn power and refrigeration cycles, as well as the basics of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation. Please consult the Registrar’s Office or contact the instructor for further details.
