A bursary is a monetary award that is granted based on financial needs. This is different from a scholarship, which is granted based on merit. A bursary is meant to supplement your income in addition to other sources like OSAP, government student financial assistance, or a loan from a financial institution. Unlike a loan, a bursary doesn’t need to be repaid. For a full list of our bursaries, check out our Awards Database.

How to Apply

You can apply for a bursary beginning on September 6, which can be done on Carleton Central under the Awards and Financial Assistance section. Once you complete the bursary application form, the Awards Office will asses your application for any applicable bursaries. Take a look at our application instructions for step-by-step instructions.

The deadline to complete and submit your application(s) is October 31. You’ll be advised of the decision in mid-December.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need help with your application.
