Benz, Arthur (Germany) Professor of Political Science at the Technische Universität Darmstadt in Germany. Comparative Federalism and Multilevel Governance are at the centre his research, with a particular interest in energy transition and climate policy. His publications contributed to empirical and theoretical research on the effectiveness and legitimacy of national and European multilevel governance.

DeBardeleben, Joan (Canada) Chancellor’s Professor for the Institute of European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Additionally, she is the Jean Monnet Chair in the EU’s Relations with Russia and the Eastern Neighbourhood and the Co-Director for the Centre for European Studies at Carleton University. Her research includes EU-Russia relations; the impact of the Ukraine crisis on EU energy, security, and neighbourhood policy; national and regional elections in Russia; and Russian politics.

De Bièvre, Dirk (Belgium) is Professor of International Politics and Chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of Antwerp, Flanders (Belgium). He obtained his PhD at the European University Institute in Florence in 2002 and did postdoc research in Bonn and Mannheim until 2006. He published extensively on interest groups in European trade policy and judicial politics in the World Trade Organization and currently conducts and directs research on, among others, European trade policy, banking union and defence cooperation.

De Mestral, Armand (Canada) Jean Monnet Chair in Law and Emeritus Professor at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. His current research interest focus on the dynamic of law in international economic integration. Hurrelmann, Achim (Canada) is Professor of Political Science at Carleton University. He also serves as Co-Director of the Centre for European Studies (CES), where he coordinates the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and the Jean Monnet Network on Transatlantic Trade Politics. His research focuses on EU politics, with a particular emphasis on political discourses about European integration (in parliaments, the media, and among citizens), democracy and legitimacy in the EU, as well as Canada-Europe relations.

Hübner, Kurt (Canada) Professor of European Studies and the Jean Monnet Chair at the Institute for European Studies at the University of British Columbia. Central to Hübner’s research are topics of global and European currency regimes, international regimes of foreign direct investment, and the relations between innovation and sustainability. His latest research focuses in a comparative way on national pathways to low carbon-emission economies where he is heading an international research group with scholars from Italy, Norway, Canada and Germany.

Knodt, Michèle (Germany) Professor at the Institute of Political Science, specialized in EU Governance and energy policy, at TU Darmstadt in Germany. She is Co-Director of the TU Darmstadt Energy Center and director of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence “EU in Global Dialogue” (CEDI). Knodt coordinates several international, interdisciplinary research projects and publishes widely in international peer-reviewed journals.

Leblond, Patrick (Canada) CN – Paul M. Tellier Chair on Business and Public Policy and Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa. He is also Senior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), Research Associate at CIRANO and Affiliated Professor of International Business at HEC Montréal. Dr. Leblond is an expert on economic governance and policy with a particular focus on Canada, Europe, North America and, increasingly, China. He has published extensively on financial and monetary integration, banking regulation, international trade, data governance, and business-government relations.

Muravska, Tatjana (Latvia) Professor of Regional and European integration studies at the University of Latvia (LU). Since 2000, she has been Director of the Centre for European and Transition Studies, European Studies Master Programme, Doctoral School for European Integration and Baltic Sea Region Studies, academic coordinator of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, and Jean Monnet Chair at LU. Her research covers economic, social, and regional policy issues in the EU and New Member States with a special focus on EU structural funds implementation and energy policy in the EU and Baltic States.

Musu, Costanza (Canada) Associate Professor of Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa. She was formerly the Jean Monnet Fellow in the Transatlantic Programme of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute (EUI). Her research focuses on the foreign policy of the European Union, particularly towards the Middle East, as well as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, transatlantic relations in the field of security and defense and conflict resolution and security studies.

Rostoks, Toms (Latvia) Associate Professor in international relations at the Department of Political Science at University of Latvia. He is also affiliated with the Centre for Security and Strategic Studies at the Latvian National Defense Academy. He has written a number of articles and book chapters on Latvia’s interests in the European Union, human security, the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea region and regional cooperation more broadly, Latvia’s foreign and security policy, and Latvian-Russian relations.

Schott, Stephan (Canada) Associate Professor at the Faculty of Public Affairs at Carleton University in Ottawa. Schmidtke, Oliver (Canada) Professor of Political Science and History at the University of Victoria where he currently also serves as the director of the Centre for Global Studies in Victoria. His research interests are the politics of migration, citizenship, and nationalism, as well as the governance of migration and integration in Europe and Canada. He received his PhD from the European University Institute in Florence and has been a JF Kennedy Fellow at Harvard University, a visiting scholar at Humboldt University Berlin, a F. Braudel Senior Fellow at the European University Institute, and a Marie Curie Fellow at Hamburg University.

Schreurs, Miranda (Germany) Environment and Climate Policy Chair and Professor of Bavarian School of Public Policy at TU Munich in Germany. Her main research areas are in international and comparative climate policy, environmental politics, and low-carbon energy transitions.
