CONNECT Project Team Hosting Workshop at 2025 On the Move Conference
The CONNECT Project team is pleased to announce that we will host a mini-workshop at On the Move: The Canadian Driving Rehabilitation and Transportation Conference, on November 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Infinity Convention Centre in Ottawa.
Workshop Title: Integrating Practice and Technology: Adding Advanced Driver Assistance Systems into Driving Simulation to Support Safety and Accessibility
This three-hour interactive session is designed for occupational therapists, driving instructors, and rehabilitation professionals. Participants will learn how Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) — such as lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and pre-collision systems — can be safely integrated into driving simulation environments. Through hands-on simulator practice and small-group work with client personas representing diverse needs, attendees will develop strategies for incorporating ADAS into assessments and training in their own settings.
By the end of the session, participants will have gained knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to help clients adapt to evolving vehicle technologies while maintaining safety and accessibility in their driving practices.
