$30,000 for 1-year with the possibility of extension
Overview
This award is exclusively for trailblazing new investigators from universities and research institutes across Canada who are within their first three years of academic appointment and have received a start-up package of less than $200,000. The purpose? To provide initial funding needed to collect vital pilot data, increasing your competitiveness for future funding opportunities. At least six awards are funded annually.
Eligibility Criteria
Must be a new investigator at any Canadian university and be within the first three years of the date of your first career academic appointment at the application deadline of January 24, 2024. Additional Information
Expressions of interest are due Oct 10, 2023. Please send your Chair/Department and Research Facilitator:
– Your academic CV
– A summary of your research program and budget request (1-page max) including the specific objectives or hypothesis to be tested, the experimental approach(es) to be used, research plan with timelines, and description of how the requested funding will be used to support your overall research program.
Note the requirement to submit a notice of intent by November 1, 2023 with eligible applicants invited by November 30, 2023 to submit full applications.
Please be advised that:
1. Only one application from the same department/centre can be submitted;
2. People who are interested in applying should contact their Chair/ADR by Oct 1, 2023; and,
3. Selection of the applicant should be done by the department/centre if multiple people are interested in applying from the same unit.
