Militants with ties to the Islamic State have taken control of a city in the southern Philippines. Violence erupted in Marawi after a botched raid to take down Abu Sayaff leader Isnilon Hapilon Tuesday. Government security forces battled Hapilon’s fighters, as well as Maute reinforcements.
