This workshop will provide an introduction to sentiment analysis tools and methods. We’ll learn to scrape and save data from the web, and assess its affective valence using computational methods. Time permitting, we’ll also attempt to visualize the affect of a lengthy literary narrative, and discuss the theoretical implications of this method of reading.
