MethaneNet is a National-Scale Program for Measurement, Reporting & Verification (MRV) of Methane Emissions.
This collaborative initiative links academia, industry, provincial, and federal governments in the united objective of accelerating development and implementation of world-leading, national-scale measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) approaches to eliminate energy and waste sector methane emissions. Building directly on the pioneering work of Carleton University’s Energy & Emissions Research Lab (EERL), the MethaneNet project features the following core components:
- Coordinated, Collaborative, Annual MRV Surveys
- Development & Implementation of Reconciliation Protocols
- Support for Partner Companies to achieve OGMP 2.0 Gold Standard
- Integration of Multi-Scale Emissions Data from Different Technologies
- Collaborative Annual Measurement-Based Inventories
