Compressed gas cylinders should be handled only by those familiar with the hazards and who are trained in proper handling techniques. Improper handling of compressed gas cylinders can result in sprains, strains, falls, bruises, or broken bones. Other hazards such as fire, explosion, chemical burns, poisoning, and cold burns could occur if gases accidentally escape from the cylinder due to mishandling. For anyone at Carleton University who works with compressed gases, we have a learning opportunity for you!

This session offered by Praxair and coordinated through the EHS office will increase your knowledge and understanding of the safety precautions when using, handling and storing gas cylinders.
