The English Department mourns the death of long-time colleague Percy Walton and we wish to extend our deepest sympathies to her family and friends. We remember her as a colleague who for over thirty-three years was generous and welcoming to new colleagues, mentored generations of students in the English Department, served as the editor of the Canadian Review of American Studies for 25 years, and worked collaboratively in her wide-ranging scholarship while also publishing many solo-authored monographs. In co-authored and co-edited monographs on female detective fiction, on Cherokee novelist Thomas King,  on culture after 9/11, as well as her most recent solo monograph, Our Cannibals, Ourselves, Percy Walton offered lively engagement with contemporary culture.
