Carleton University is in the Nation’s capital city, and is scenically surrounded by the Rideau River, and the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Rideau Canal is also the largest skating rink in the world. However, typical June weather sees highs of 25°C, so hikes along the Canal and in the nearby parks systems would be more seasonal! As a capital city, Ottawa is a city of 1.2-million diverse residents, world-class museums, and direct flights to most Canadian cities and European and American hubs. It is also a short train ride away from Montreal, Toronto, and Quebec City.
The conference parallel sessions will be held at the Richcraft Hall and Tory Building at Carleton University. The location of the Richcraft Hall is indicated on this interactive map and Tory Building is just a few steps from Richcraft Hall (see on the map)!
The reception on June 21 will be at the Beyond the Pale Brewery. It is a pleasant 40 min walk through the Arboretum if you are coming from Carleton and right by a major transit hub (the Bayview station) if you are using OC Transpo’s light rail service from downtown or buses from elsewhere.
The banquet on June 22 will be at Mill Street Brew Pub a heritage building on the Ottawa River – only steps away from the reception venue!
