The Jean Monnet Chair in EU External Relations at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) welcomes Dr. Ieva Giedraitytė as a visiting scholar for the period May 26 – June 20, 2025. Dr. Giedraitytė is co-teaching with Prof. Crina Viju-Miljusevic a graduate course on regional powers in Eurasia and the Mediterranean.

Ieva Giedraitytė holds a Master’s degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Barcelona (2010) and a PhD from Vilnius University (2021), and has twelve years of teaching and academic experience. Her academic interests include EU external action (with a focus on Southern neighbourhood), regionalism and regional powers, and Latin American studies (with a focus on Central America). In addition to her academic work, Ieva has had several internships in different EU institutions dealing with Latin American countries (DG DEVCO and the EU Delegation to Honduras). Ieva is also a member of the study committee of the inter-university ARQUS MSc programme “Europe as a Global Actor” and coordinates the programme at Vilnius University.
