Following up on last week’s tip about ‘claiming mileage within Ottawa’, in this week’s tip I am sharing information about attaching digital receipts to your travel and expense claim.
- If your original receipt for an approved expense is digital, you have the option to attach the digital file to your claim. An example of this might be a receipt for a book that is emailed to you by Amazon. If you attach the digital receipt to your claim, you do not have to also print it and attach it to your ‘Claimant Declaration’ with any hard copy receipts.
- Please note that your supervisor may request that all receipts be attached digitally. Hard copy receipts must still be attached to the claimant declaration and sent to the business office.
