What is it?
Diverse Vendor means any business or enterprise that is certified to be 1) more than 50% owned, managed and controlled by persons belonging to an equity-deserving community or 2) a social purpose enterprise whose primary purpose is to create social, environmental or cultural value and impact, and where more than 50% of the persons who are full-time equivalent employees are participating in, or have completed, transitional employment training, or experience economic disadvantage.
Why is it important?
- Enables Carleton University to diversify the vendors it works with, and strategically manage relationships with vendors by targeting spend across vendors
- Increases visibility for minority owned and operated businesses and enables them to grow
- Increases economic opportunity for Diverse Vendor groups
