What is it?

A donation is a gift given to Carleton University by an external party for charitable purposes.  The gift may take various forms, including cash, securities, equipment, or art.

Why is it important?

Donation income builds the University’s Endowment Fund for student scholarships and bursaries. With the generous support of the broader Carleton community, we are able to provide student aid annually.

If you have or will receive a donation for your department or research project, please note that it is critical the donation is received by the Department of University Advancement to ensure the donor receives a charitable donation receipt and that it is appropriately recorded in our financial statements.
