What is it?
Posting Authority is a level of authority granted to an individual in order to post an electronic transaction against a fund-orgn combination in one of our electronic financial systems.
Why is it important?
All electronic financial systems at Carleton are governed by fund-orgn security. This means that to view or create a transaction against any FOAPAL, a user must have the appropriate posting authority to successfully pass the security checks. If you need to enter a fund-orgn combination in order to process your transaction, then you need a minimum of posting authority in order to do so.
For procurement card transactions, individuals who have posting authority are responsible for submitting evidence that the fund holder requested the purchase prior to the posting of the transaction. All transactions of this nature will be reviewed for such documentation. For Travel and Expense Reimbursement transactions, the system will automatically route the transaction to the Financial Approval Authority for review and approval.
