What is it?
A Request for Information (RFI) is an information gathering process used when a client is interested in gaining additional knowledge from the vendor community regarding a good or service they are interested in procuring.
Why is it important?
The information gathered from the RFI can then be used to develop a open competitive procurement such as a Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Tender (RFT) or a Request for Quotation (RFQ).
