At the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), we recognize that university is about much more than just selecting a single topic to study.
With 27 majors, 19 minors, over 7,000 students, and 325 faculty members, FASS is the most diverse and flexible faculty at Carleton University.
This means that FASS students are encouraged to chart their own academic paths – to ask big questions, expand their knowledge, listen and learn from different voices, and advocate for positive change.
To help guide students on their unique journeys, the FASS Framework represents the foundational cross-disciplinary areas of interest explored at FASS that get to the heart of what our community of students, researchers, educators, and administrators care about most.
Through the FASS Framework, students can directly connect what they learn in the classroom to the challenges faced in the real world, earning interdisciplinary educations that will prepare them for exceptional futures as the thinkers, leaders, and caretakers of tomorrow.
