The Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities (PMC) provides services and accommodations to students with disabilities. Additionally, the centre work with various departments to increase accessibility and integration of students with disabilities into all aspects of university life. The READi (Research, Education, Accessibility, Design and Innovation). The READi aims to position Carleton University as a Centre of Excellence in accessibility. Facilitate academic programming, course offerings, training and research expertise in accessibility, disabilities, and inclusion.

Student’s research opportunity in EDI

Carleton University Student EDI Research Awards. The establishment of this award aligns with the strategic directions of Carleton’s Strategic Integrated Plan and responds to a specific recommendation in Carleton’s new EDI Action Plan, which outlines Carleton’s commitment to support, fund and disseminate research that advances EDI. Up to five undergraduate student awards are available, each valued at $10,000. One graduate student award is available, valued at $15,000.

Faculty of Science Excellence Awards

The Faculty of Science Excellence Awards are awarded in three areas (teaching, research and impact). The Faculty of Science recognizes its commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) by encouraging applicants to include their contribution to EDI in their applications. Actions which foster different aspects of EDI can include for example, initiative or program that helps students from an under-represented groups, practice that improves accessibility or action to improve inclusion and fairness.
