Career Readiness Competencies: Career Management, Communication, Professionalism and Work Ethic

Workshop Description

This series is an introduction to the world of non-faculty careers in higher education, or “alternative academic” (“alt-ac”) employment as it is commonly known. Each session will consist of a brief overview of a specific alt-ac field, followed by an interview with a Carleton professional working in that field. Sessions will cover such fields as communications, research facilitation, advancement services, and more. The conversations are followed by Q&A sessions during which students may engage directly with the guest.

(2) Understand the duties involved in a variety of positions

(3) Formulate effective questions to seek information from professionals
