This webinar covers the ins and outs of credit cards, various types of loans, and the benefits of debt consolidation. Participants will learn how to select the best credit product (credit cards, personal loans, LOCs, etc) given their specific circumstances. Various strategies to help you pay off your debts will be reviewed and the important link between debt-utilization and credit scores will be highlighted. Finally, you will learn how to save tens of thousands of dollars by boosting your credit score and how to obtain a free credit report.

This webinar is also relevant for international students & newcomers to Canada, as it covers many of the basics about the different types of credit instruments available to you as well as how credit scores work in Canada (which can differ from other countries).

Learning outcomes:

(1) Learn about the pros and cons of different types of debt (credit cards, personal loans, lines of credit, and student loans).

(2) Acquire strategies to pay off your debts more effectively (debt consolidation, snowball method, and debt avalanche method).

(3) Learn how to boost your credit score and how to get a free credit report.
