Description:

Exploring the job market is a long-term research project; it takes time and effort. Learn how to ask the right questions so that you can gain an understanding of the sectors and occupations in your areas of interest, and how to think “horizontally” about professions that span multiple sectors.

This workshop is part of the series Establish Your Career Narrative. The series consists of the workshops “Identify Your Skills,” “Explore the Job Market,” and “Enhance Your Employability”

Learning outcomes:

  • Explain the premise and main sections of the Individual Development Plan, and particularly the section on exploring the job market
  • Devise a strategy to gather information on desired sectors of employment, relevant organizations, and potential positions
  • List the key skills and competencies required for desired positions
