Description:
“Begin as you mean to go on.” Or, format your research document before you start to write so that you can easily finalize your thesis, dissertation or other research project and submit your work on time. In this workshop designed for students in the arts and social sciences, we introduce participants to basic functions in Microsoft Word that allow them to format documents so that they leave with a template for their research project. This workshop is designed for graduate students in the Arts and Social Sciences who are writing a dissertation, thesis, master’s research project, or undergraduate research project.
Learning outcomes:
(1) Choose a theme or style
(2) Create a table of contents using headings and subheadings
(3) Add captions to images and figures

All graduate students are welcome. If you are a TA, this session counts toward voluntary paid training hours, provided that you are working as a TA in the term when the training takes place.
