Constable George Henrie (He/Him)

Keynote Presenter

Born in Yellowknife, NWT, and raised in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, George is Inuk and comes from a family whose experiences reflect the strength and challenges of many Inuit families across the North. His mother was a Residential School survivor and among the last generation of Inuit born in an igloo. His parents’ resilience and values continue to shape who he is today.

After graduating high school, George attended the Nunavut Sivuniksavut Program in Ottawa before returning North to work. In 2002, he joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), beginning a career in public service spanning more than two decades.

George has served in several Nunavut communities and in Ottawa, including a decade on the Prime Minister’s protective detail. He returned to Iqaluit in 2020 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2025, where he now works in Media Relations and Community Policing.

As both an Inuk and a member of the RCMP, George takes pride in serving Canadians while remaining connected to his roots, family history, and the communities that shaped his journey.
