Kwe’, my name is Lana Thomas, and I am a Mi´kmaw artist and a member of the Natoaganeg (Eel Ground) First Nation. I am the proud owner and operator of Mi´kmaq Wooden Art, which is a high-end wooden art boutique located in the south end of Ottawa, Ontario. Every handcrafted art piece I create represents thousands of years of time-honoured tradition.
My work reflects countless generations of woodworkers, and in keeping with my ancestral roots, my art tells the story of my people. My company produces an exclusive product line of quality handmade eight-point wooden stars for the consumer market; in addition, I also offer a client customization program for the more discerning client who wishes to make a bold artistic statement.
My work is in the homes and offices from coast to coast and is also found in the United States and in Europe.
