“My undergrad has been characterized by an increasing interest in issues pertaining to refugees, migration and citizenship as these issues have largely defined contemporary global politics.
The LERRN research project interests me because it studies global refugee policy at both the more practical and local level. It engages with both local and national actors in the global refugee regime in order to better respond to the needs of refugees. It is a unique approach that focuses on a bottom-up, rather than a top-down approach of global refugee policy and focuses on improving outcomes for the refugees affected by global policy. More importantly, the project seeks to include refugees in these policy-making decisions that affect them the most.”
