Two big congrats are in order for Steffan Llyod and Wade MacMillan!
In October Steffan’s paper: Application of Pseudo-Symbolic Dynamic Modeling (PSDM) in the Modeling & Calibration of a 6-DOF Articulated Robot won BEST STUDENT PAPER. The paper was presented at the American Automatic Control Council (AACC) and International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) conference on Modeling, Estimation and Control Conference (MECC). At the conference, Steffan was also invited to give a talk at the “Rising Star’s Special Session” on his paper: Fast and Robust Inverse Kinematics of Serial Robots using Halley’s Method.
In December Wade MacMillan successfully defended his MASc: Contour Following and Trajectory Planning for Robotic Deburring. Wade’s work has also been published, Planar image-space trajectory planning algorithm for contour following in robotic machining in the CIRP Journal of Manufacturing Science and Technology. His excellent work was recognized by his thesis committee and is nominated for a University Medal!
