Carleton Experts Available: Brexit

Achim Hurrelmann

Hurrelmann is one of the leading Canadian scholars of European integration. His research focuses on questions of politicization, legitimation and democratization in the European system of multi-level governance. He teaches in the areas of EU politics, comparative politics, European integration and state theory.

Hurrelmann serves as a co-director of the Centre for European Studies and holds the Jean Monnet Chair “Democracy in the European Union.” He is a member of the governing board of the European Community Studies Association – Canada.

Tepper has worked with national and international organizations on a broad range of topics and has been engaged with media throughout his career. He can offer commentary on international relations, nuclear issues, the United Nations and terrorism.

Long has published widely on the history of international relations theory, as well as the European Union and transatlantic relations. His current research interests include the EU’s foreign and security policy and the development of the EU’s policy on outer space.

Long teaches courses on the EU, international relations in Europe, ethics in international affairs, gender in international affairs, and international relations theory.
