Carleton University to Host President Installation Ceremony During Fall Convocation
More than 1,200 Carleton Students to Graduate
Carleton University will hold an installation ceremony for President and Vice-Chancellor Benoit-Antoine Bacon at its fall Convocation ceremonies taking place on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018.
“Fall Convocation is a momentous event for our graduating students and their loved ones, and this year I am honored to join in our ceremonies for the first time,” says Bacon. “It’s wonderful to celebrate our students and to wish them well as they get ready to embark on a new chapter of their lives. We know they are well prepared for both the challenges and the opportunities that will come their way.”
Bacon joined Carleton on July 1, 2018 after serving as provost and vice-principal (Academic) at Queen’s University. He was previously provost and vice-president (Academic Affairs) at Concordia University in his hometown of Montreal.
More than 1,200 undergraduate and graduate students will receive their degrees at the university’s Fieldhouse. A campus map can be found online.
Media are invited to attend. The ceremonies will be broadcast online via live streaming at carleton.ca/convocation/live.
The morning Convocation ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. and will feature the president installation ceremony. The afternoon Convocation ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m.
