Carleton to Host Conference on the Politics and Policy of Migration
Carleton University’s Faculty of Public Affairs (FPA) will host the Informing Migration Policy: International Experience and Evidence conference. The event will bring together experts from universities, government and non-governmental organizations to examine issues related to the politics and policy of migration.
This event is part of the FPA Research Series.
When: Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, from 9:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Where: Second floor conference rooms, Richcraft Hall, Carleton

The conference aims to share insights and encourage research partnerships that will facilitate transformative changes in international migration policies, as well as support more constructive political debates related to immigration issues.
The interdisciplinary conference program features diverse research on factors that affect conversations on international migration. Topics to be discussed include global refugee policy, immigrant economic outcomes and the health data of immigrants.
The event is organized by the Migration Policy Research Group, an interdisciplinary group of Carleton researchers from a range of faculties. The group members are Anand Acharya, Ali Arya, Robert Barsky, James Casteel, Howard Duncan, Ahmed El-Roby, Christina Gabriel, Megan Gaucher, Martin Geiger, Amrita Hari, Meredith Lilly, Laura Macdonald, Victoria McArthur, James Milner, Luciara Nardon, Jeff Sahadeo, Omair Shafiq, Fraser Taylor, William Walters, Matthew Webb and Chris Worswick.
