November 7, 2019

Carleton University will bring together experts and academics as it hosts Ukrainian Conflict Resolution in the Shadow of Ukrainegate – a seminar-style event that will tackle the complicated geopolitical realities facing Ukraine.

In this discussion, experts will analyze the situation in Ukraine as it relates to broader international conflicts and explore the impact of recent elections, international developments and United States controversies on potential resolutions of the Ukrainian conflict.

When: Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at 6 p.m.
Where: Room 608, Robertson Hall, Carleton
Info: This event is free and open to the public. A campus map is available online.

Media are invited to attend the event.

From Ukraine’s 2019 elections and U.S. domestic political controversies to Russia’s renewed engagements with European states, numerous developments are having an impact on negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. This event will engage audience members as experts analyze options for the reintegration of separatist-controlled territories into the Ukrainian government’s control.

Experts leading these discussions include Denys Kiryukhin, research scholar at the Skovoroda’s Institute of Philosophy; Carleton Prof. Milana Nikolko; Dani Belo, PhD candidate at Carleton’s Norman Paterson School of International Affairs; and Carleton master’s student Wyler Dawd.
