Carleton to Host Philanthropic Race for Good featuring Nav “Superfan” Bhatia

November 8, 2019

In honour of National Philanthropy Day, Carleton University will host its inaugural Race for Good – an Amazing Race-style competition where six teams compete in challenges across Ottawa to win funding toward impactful student and faculty-led initiatives. The finish line event will feature a talk by Nav “Superfan” Bhatia about his personal journey with philanthropy and basketball.

Media are invited to attend the finish line event.

When: Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 at 3 p.m.
Where: Ravens’ Nest, Athletics Building, Carleton
Info: This event is free and open to the public, registration is available online. A campus map can be found here.

As a visible minority and immigrant from India, Bhatia faced struggles and discrimination throughout the years. An entrepreneur and passionate philanthropist with a vision to unite people through basketball, he created the non-profit Nav Bhatia Superfan Foundation – which raises money to build basketball courts and camps for kids in Canada and around the world. The foundation also supports Canada Basketball and the World Vision Rise-Up Daughters of India initiative, which helps to build washrooms for girls in northern India.
