Test of Carleton’s Emergency Notification System on Thursday, March 28

Published on March 27, 2019

Campus Safety Services has been working with our Emergency Notification System (ENS) provider to ensure that the system is fully operational following the false alarm in late January. A test will be conducted on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at approximately 11:30 a.m. We will communicate the results of the test in the days following.

That test will include three types of notifications: campus computer screen messages, emails sent out to all Carleton University addresses, and a push notification through the Carleton Mobile App. This immediate push notification replaces previous cellphone text messages, which are subject to the data schedule of service providers.

To ensure you receive a notification on your cellphone on March 28, please download the Carleton Mobile App by clicking here. Ensure that you enable notifications under your cellphone settings.

For more information about Carleton’s emergency plans, please go to carleton.ca/emergency.

If you have any questions, please email campussafetyservices@carleton.ca.
