Carleton Experts Available – United States Election

The United States (US) election will be held on Nov. 3, 2020 and Carleton experts are available to comment on related topics.

Aaron Ettiger

Ettinger specializes in international relations and US foreign policy. His current research focuses on continuity and change in US foreign policy since 2001 and its implications for world order. He is available to speak about the impact that the election will have on international relations.

Melissa Haussman
Professor, Department of Political Science

Haussman teaches in both the US and comparative North American fields. Her scholarship has generally focused on questions of women’s access to political power in North America. Her research has centered on women’s ability to gender public policy and related debates, especially on reproductive rights and health care systems. Haussman is available to speak about most domestic US related outcomes and policy, including numbers of diverse groups running/elected, voting patterns and the key nature of Harris’ campaign.

Andrew Johnston
Professor, Department of History

Johnston is available to comment on the results of the election and its potential impacts. His research focuses on late 19th to 20th century US history, imperialism and foreign relations, liberalism and pluralism in American social thought, nuclear strategy and international feminist pacifism.

He regularly provides media commentary at home and abroad on a wide range of topics, providing context and deep background to the news stories of the day. Tepper’s areas of expertise include American politics, diversity issues in Canada, geopolitics, immigration and multiculturalism.
