My research interests center around friendship in adulthood. My master’s thesis focused on relational interdependent self-construal, self-efficacy, and how likely someone was to initiate and follow through on friendship maintenance behavior. In my doctoral work I continue to research friendships as important close relationships that play critical roles in our well-being. Specifically, for my doctoral thesis I will be investigating the potential benefits and consequences of gossip within close friendships.
