The philanthropy and nonprofit sector is a major employer in Canada, providing 10% of full-time jobs, in addition to the thousands of volunteers in communities across the country. For years, we’ve heard from leaders in the sector about how to strengthen the ability of the sector to innovate, improve service to vulnerable communities and build social capital in an increasingly unequal society. Below, PANL Perspectives presents a series of stories about policy issues related to removing government barriers to the sector and raising the sector’s visibility and understanding among the Canadian public.
