Biosketch

I am a young Malawian lady, last born in a family of four siblings. I acquired my first degree in 2011 and my masters in 2015. I began lecturing at Mzuzu University in 2014 as part of my Masters. My hobbies include taking walks, reading, singing and star gazing.

Research Interests and societal interests

Area of interest is Economics (value chains) and applied Statistics. My PhD research intent covers my areas of interest including climate change. My working proposal looks at how knowledge of climate change assists management of value chains and benefits it promises to household, community and country

Expectations as a QES Scholar during the Mobility Period

My expectations from this project includes: strengthening my writing skills, strengthening my data analysis skills with special emphasis on Nvivo and R software, develop lasting networks with Carleton University and other colleagues in the program which will last even when the project comes to an end, and if possible be involved in a project relating to my area of interest with Carleton University which can also benefit my institution; Mzuzu University.

The QES Project and Advancement of your Career

As an Economics and Statistics teacher, I would like to improve the depth of my understanding as well as my mode of delivery.

As a researcher, I would like to improve my skills in data tools development, data collection, data management, data analysis. I also would like to develop networks which will improve my research work and help me conduct impactful research
