The Second Annual READi Launch and Symposium took place on September 25th, 2018, with a fantastic keynote from Dr. Boris Vukovic, Director of the Research Education Accessibility and Design, (READ) Initiative. Charles Watters delivered an engaging and eye-opening reflection on his own experience with disability. Yazmine Laroche, Deputy Minister of Public Service Accessibility, Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, Deputy Minister Champion Federal Employees with Disabilities, and Deputy Minister Champion for Carleton University and Mike Gifford, president and founder of OpenConcept Consulting Inc. and Drupal 8 Core Accessibility Maintainer, joined Dr. Vukovic for a lively and informative panel discussion moderated by Dr. Adrian Chan, Director of READi and Associate Vice-President Teaching and Learning (interim).
