 What Is Covered?

All University-owned boats, vessels and watercraft used in authorized academic, research, or operational activities are insured under a dedicated marine insurance policy. This policy includes the following components:

Incident Reporting & Claims

In the event of an accident, incident, or damage involving a University-owned vessel:

  1. Ensure all individuals are safe and receive medical attention if needed
  2. Contact local marine authorities or emergency services
  3. Report the incident immediately to: The Department of Risk Management 613-262-7431

A formal incident report must be submitted within 48 hours of the event.
