To protect both the University and external users of campus facilities, [University Name] offers access to the Facility User Insurance Program. This program provides low-cost, short-term liability insurance for individuals or groups renting or using University property for approved events or activities.
What Is the Facility User Insurance Program?
This program is designed to provide third-party liability insurance coverage for external users who are:
- Renting space at the University (e.g., classrooms, auditoriums, athletic fields)
- Hosting events such as meetings, performances, conferences, camps, or workshops
- Required to provide proof of insurance as part of a Facility Use Agreement
How to Apply
- Book a facility through the appropriate campus department (e.g., Conference Services, Athletics, Campus Events)
- Pay the insurance premium directly (cost varies by event type and duration)
Who Can Use This Program?
The Facility User Insurance Program is available to:
- Community groups

What Does the Policy Cover?
The standard Special Events Insurance policy includes:
- Commercial General Liability (CGL) — typically up to $2 million per occurrence
- Medical payments for event participants
- Tenant legal liability for damage to rented premises
- Participant liability coverage for certain sports and physical activities (when applicable)
