Video Message from Bob Rae on Academic Freedom and Artistic Resilience
To help officially launch the art exhibition presented by Scholars at Risk Carleton: “Mysteries Near the Waterfall” by Nataliia Kononova, we are most grateful to share a recorded message from the Ambassador Bob Rae, Permanent Representative of Canada to the United Nations in New York.
This powerful event, hosted by Scholars at Risk Carleton, will run from December 2 to 31 at the MacOdrum Library and highlights the intersection of art and academic freedom, honouring those who courageously continue to create, teach, and share knowledge despite adversity.
Ambassador Rae’s words remind us of the critical importance of protecting scholars and artists at risk worldwide and celebrate the resilience embodied in Nataliia’s stunning work.
