Fall term final and winter term mid-term examinations take place Monday, December 9 to Saturday, December 21, 2019.

Be sure to check your exam schedule through the Carleton Mobile app or Carleton Central and write down where your exam is taking place. Keep an eye on the weather, as snow or heavy rain may delay your commute. Arriving early guarantees you have time to use the washroom, finish your coffee or refill your water before you enter the exam room. In cases of more severe weather keep an eye on Carleton University on Twitter and our weather page to make sure you don’t miss any important updates.

Being prepared for exams is an important part of your success. Knowing what you should and shouldn’t bring with you, where you can leave your coat and what happens if you’re late are all important parts of feeling relaxed during an exam. Need to go to the washroom? Not feeling well? Scheduling and Exam Services have a full list of things to know before and during to help keep your mind at ease.

Exam time is often stressful for students. Make sure you’re taking time for yourself and your mental health by taking breaks, prioritizing your sleep and maintaining good eating habits. If the stress or anxiety is proving to be too much, or if you just need to talk to someone check out Empower Me. Carleton University undergraduate students have access to free, confidential, 24/7 counselling services in the community through Empower Me. Empower Me support is available in person, by telephone, video-counselling or e-counselling for free.

Once you’ve successfully navigated exam season you’re probably wondering when you can expect your final grades. The exact date that your grade will be available depends on how quickly your instructor submits the grades for the course. The instructor generally has 10 calendar days after the date of the final examination to submit final grades. Once submitted, it will take a few days for the final grades to be approved by the Departmental Chair and the Dean of the Faculty that administers your course.
