On November 11th 2022, SIM Lab Research Manager Katherine Occhiuto and Lab Manager Ruxi Gheorghe presented at the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) Annual Program Meeting (APM) in Anaheim, California.
The presentation, titled When Reflection is Not Enough: Disrupting Reflection and Moving towards More Socially Just Practice, highlighted some preliminary findings from our simulation-based research project, “Knowing and Not Knowing: Navigating Uncertainty in Social Work Practice” (PI: Dr. Sarah Todd). By highlighting the preliminary findings, the presentation offered key pedagogical implications around the use of reflective practice in social work education.
